If big clubs can’t cope, how can your small sports club?

Reading about the (possible) financial woes of the Gold Coast Titans and their recent approach to the NRL for an advanced grant of $300,000 shows how hard it is for clubs to weather financial conditions. Good Deeds saw the hard work clubs (especially the parent volunteers) put into their fundraising and found a way to help. For every club member who writes a loan with Good Deeds, founder Mike Astill will give 0.1% to their nominated charity or sporting club every year for the life of the loan. They can even split payments between two clubs – for example, their daughter’s netball and their son’s soccer teams.

Considering the number of members each club has, this could mean a lot of guaranteed funds coming into your club each and every year – without a sausage sizzle or raffle ticket in sight! For more about how this scheme works go to www.gooddeeds.net.au
